Ditching Plastic Loofahs for Home Composting
Conventional plastic loofahs and body poufs are made from synthetic netting that sheds microplastics directly into your shower water and sewage systems. Worse, they cannot be recycled and sit in landfills for centuries.
- 100% Backyard Compostable: Because this pouch is crafted entirely from natural sisal plant fibers, it is fully biodegradable. At the end of its life cycle, simply cut it into small pieces and toss it right into your backyard compost bin.
- Sustainably Sourced: Made from robust, fast-growing agave plant fibers, offering a highly renewable, toxin-free, and chemical-free alternative for your daily personal care routine.
Care & How To Use
Care & How To Use
Washing & Maintenance
- Daily Care: Pop your favorite soap bar or loose scraps inside the pouch and secure the drawstring. Wet thoroughly, rub between your hands to build a lather, and wash. Always hang the pouch up by its string after use to let it air dry completely.
- Sanitizing: In between soap bars, you can easily clean the pouch. Just toss it into your washing machine on a gentle cycle, then lay it flat to dry. Do not put it in the clothes dryer, to avoid fiber shrinkage.
- Replacement: Replace your pouch as needed once the plant fibers begin to naturally wear down over months of steady use.
FAQs
FAQs
Can I put small, leftover soap scraps inside this pouch?
Yes! This pouch is specifically engineered to collect and save small soap pieces. Instead of throwing away tiny, unusable scraps, simply drop them into the pouch together. They will stick together and lather up perfectly, ensuring you get to use every ounce of soap you bought.
Is sisal fiber too scratchy for sensitive skin?
Sisal provides a medium-firm, highly invigorating exfoliation. While it softens up significantly once completely soaked in warm water and lathered with soap, we recommend using light pressure if you have highly sensitive skin, and avoiding using on delicate facial skin.
How does hanging the pouch keep my soap from getting mushy?
When a soap bar sits flat on a ledge or in a traditional soap dish, it pools water underneath and melts away. Hanging this pouch allows air to circulate around the soap from all angles, drying the bar quickly between showers so your soap lasts much longer.
