This kids bamboo toothbrush has a small head that fits little mouths and soft bristles that are gentle on sensitive gums. The bamboo handle is smooth and light, making it easy for small hands to hold. The bristles are a plant-based nylon, so it isn’t plastic-free, but it replaces the plastic handle that makes up most of a conventional toothbrush.

A Smaller Plastic Footprint
Most kids’ toothbrushes are made entirely of plastic and end up in landfills or oceans after just a few months of use.
- Bamboo handle: bamboo is a fast-growing grass that replaces the plastic handle and can be composted at end of life.
- Plant-based bristles: the bristles are nylon made from castor bean oil instead of petroleum. While it’s still a type of plastic, but it’s the best option we’ve found. The brush still cuts out most of the plastic present in a conventional toothbrush.
- Paper packaging: the recycled paper box uses no glue or tape.

FAQs
FAQs
Is bamboo safe in my child’s mouth?
Yes, the handle is sanded smooth. Check it now & then for cracks or rough spots, and replace it if you find any.
How do I keep the bamboo from getting moldy?
Store it upright in an open holder so it dries fully between uses. Avoid travel cases or cups that hold water.
Is this toothbrush plastic-free?
No. The handle is bamboo and the box is paper, but the bristles are a plant-based nylon, which is still a plastic. We’d rather be clear about that than label it plastic-free.
Should I help my child brush?
Many dentists recommend helping until kids can brush thoroughly on their own, often around ages 6 to 8. Your child’s dentist can give more specific guidance for your child.
