Bristle Firmness

Our Testing Verdict: Tough Enough for Baked-On Food
We tested this over three months in our kitchen, and it became our favorite brush for hard jobs. We used it when our softer sisal brush couldn't keep up with cast iron and baked-on food - the added palm bristles in this brush made the difference. It scrubs off dried oatmeal, baked-on eggs, and stuck-on bits in cast-iron pans without much effort.

Why We Love It:
This long handle dish brush is a sturdy, comfortable alternative to plastic pot scrubbers. The 9" beechwood handle gives a solid grip and long reach, making it easy to scrub deep pots, roasting pans, and casserole dishes. A small metal loop at the end of the handle lets you hang it by the sink, so the bristles dry fully between uses.

Sustainability Spotlight:
Made without plastic and shipped to us in paper or cardboard, this brush aligns with our mission of reducing waste throughout a product's entire lifecycle. No individual plastic wrapping or unnecessary extras, just thoughtful, useful design.

Care Tip:
Rinse after each use and allow to air dry with bristles facing down. Store in a dry spot to prolong the life of the wood and bristles. Do not soak.

Sustainability & Certifications

Plastic-Free From Bristle to Packaging

Most dish brushes and sponges are made from nylon, polyester, or polyurethane foam, which shed plastic fibers into the drain as they wear down and go straight to the landfill when you're done with them.

  • No Plastic Bristles: Sisal and palm are plant fibers, so there are no synthetic bristles breaking off into your sink.
  • Compostable Head: Once the metal clip is unlatched, the worn head can go in a home compost pile.
  • Plastic-Free Shipping: These arrive to us packed in paper or cardboard, with no individual plastic wrapping.

Care & How To Use

How to Use

  • Wet bristles and add dish soap, or scrub wet brush over a solid dish soap block.
  • Excellent for pots and pans and tougher work. Our sisal version is available for everyday dish and glass cleaning.

Drying & Lifespan

  • Rinse after each use and hang by the metal loop, or stand it with bristles facing down, so water drains away from the wood.
  • Do not soak. Standing water shortens the life of the wood and bristles.

FAQs

How long does the brush last?
It depends on how often you use it and how well it dries. With weekly use and hanging to dry, ours has held up for 6 months.

Will this brush scratch delicate surfaces?
We don't recommend using this on anything that might scratch easily, like stainless steel or china. Try our purely-sisal brush for those. This is a tough brush made to tackle tough messes.

Which bristle type should I choose?
Choose this brush for grimy pots and pans, stuck on food, and anything else that is a tougher job. Choose the sisal brush available here if you need a brush for everyday dishes.
